Section 23 of the Road Traffic Ordinance gives the court discretion to disqualify for any period and to limit that disqualification either to a class or by description; the court is not required to limit a disqualification only to the specific class of vehicle driven at the time and may impose a descriptive limitation (e.g. permitting only vehicles registered for carriage of passengers) appropriate to the nature of the offence and the object of insurance legislation.
