Section 13(1) requires production of documents which pass or purport to pass an interest in the property together with any related power of attorney; solicitors cannot decide not to produce such documents on the basis that a historical claimant would in truth have no prospect of specific performance. Because a certified true copy of the power of attorney was not produced the defendants failed to show good title and the plaintiffs' requisition was not sufficiently answered.
