Section 48 HCO applies and the Company, having paid the sums into court and been subject to the interpleader process, is liable to pay interest to J. Thomson. Interest is awarded at 1% above the best lending rate quoted by HSBC on $12,000,000 from 12 September 2011 until 4 October 2020 and on $500,000 from 12 September 2011 until 22 March 2021, excluding the period 5 October 2020 to 24 February 2021 (inclusive). Costs of the summons are ordered nisi in favour of J. Thomson.
