The Court held on the evidence that illegal bookmaking was proved on the premises on the balance of probabilities and that the Notice to Quit served on 9 July 1980 validly terminated the contractual tenancy on 31 January 1981; by s.52(1C) the tenancy continued under the amended Ordinance and the Court had jurisdiction to entertain the landlords' action. The appeal was dismissed.
