The court held that ss.58(1)(d) and 58(2) of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance permit disclosure of a former employee's correspondence address and full name for discovery in civil litigation and that DPP3 does not bar such disclosure; the principle applies whether the data holder is a party or a third party; however, a copy of the Hong Kong identity card is a sensitive document and is not ordered at this stage absent a dispute over identity, with liberty to apply later.
