The appellant, being the person responsible for administration and financial management and a duly authorised manager/agent of the corporation in relation to the contracts of employment, fell within the definition of 'employer' in s2 of the Employment Ordinance; therefore the Magistrate had jurisdiction and rightly exercised the discretion under s65(1) to order the appellant to pay the outstanding wages of HK$261,270.
