Given the strenuous nature of the applicant's pre-accident employment, the permanent and substantial disabilities sustained, and the substantial pre-accident earnings including extras, the court applied s9(1A) special formula (as explained in Hong Kong Paper Mills and Lui Kwong Yan) and found a 68% loss of earning capacity; section 9, 10 and 10A awards were calculated accordingly with deduction of prior periodical payments and medical expenses; interest and costs were awarded to the applicant.
