Because the defendant neither applied to vary the provisional costs order within 14 days nor filed any opposition to the plaintiff's written costs statement, the Court summarily assessed and ordered the defendant to pay the plaintiff's costs in respect of the subpoenas dated 1 February and 27 March 2024 in the sum of HKD 42,000.
