The Court exercised its discretion to order security for costs of the pending appeal in the sum of HK$1,200,000, treating the HK$300,000 previously paid into court as part of that security, requiring the 1st defendant to pay the balance of HK$900,000 into court within 21 days (by cash, bankers draft or bank guarantee approved by the Registrar), with the 2nd defendant required to provide the security within 14 days thereafter if the 1st defendant defaults, failing which both appeals will be stayed; costs of the hearing were made nisi in the cause.
