The Court held that the robbery convictions stood because there was adequate identification and forensic evidence, and the trial judge's summing-up safeguarded the appellants against prejudice from joinder or co-accused statements in the absence of any application at trial; however the rape convictions for Lee Shun-chung and Lam Kwai-ping were quashed because there was insufficient evidence establishing their presence at the location and time of the rapes or their attitude to the acts, making those convictions unsafe.
