The court exercised its discretion under s.290(1A) to extend time because the applicant's ignorance of the legal consequences, coupled with absence of prejudice and no objection from the Registrar and former liquidators, justified restoring the company and declaring the dissolution void.

Given the benefits to the creditors from prompt recovery, absence of evidence of misconduct, the intended taxation/scrutiny of fees and the disproportionate cost of case-by-case inquiry, the court will exercise its power under section 200(3) to retrospectively authorise the Panel B appointments and permit payment of agents' fees out of company assets subject to taxation and limits set by the Panel B arrangements.

The court ordered that the 61 notices of appeal be set down as a single appeal, that one copy of each notice together with one copy of Schedule A and one copy of the court's order sufficed for Order 59 Rule 5(1) purposes, that filing of the two judgments was unnecessary, that filing fees for the 61 notices were dispensed with, that only one notice was required for preparing the appeal bundle, that the respondent was granted leave to serve its notice within 14 days with only one respondent's notice to be filed, and that costs of and occasioned by the two summonses be in the cause of the appeal.
