The Court allowed the appeal in part and substituted the District Court's four-year concurrent custodial sentences with an order of detention in a Training Centre because the applicant's age, disadvantaged family background and the correctional/probation reports made rehabilitation in a Training Centre the more appropriate disposition despite the seriousness of the offences.
