The court granted the direction that affidavits/affirmations filed by the Secretary for Justice shall stand as the evidence in chief of the deponents provided they attend trial for cross-examination, because allowing that practice promotes efficient administration of justice without causing shown real prejudice and subject to the trial judge's discretion to order oral evidence in whole or in part for any witness.
