    THE QUEEN v. CHAN MAN-TUNG

    Citation
    THE QUEEN v. CHAN MAN-TUNG
    Court
    Court of Appeal
    Case number
    CACC553/1995

The Court refused the application for leave to appeal, holding that the sentencing judge was entitled to adopt a starting point of 12 years given the aggravated facts (planned ambush, four armed participants, 'murderous' knives and fatal result) and that a four‑year discount for an early guilty plea to manslaughter produced a justified sentence of eight years which was not manifestly excessive.
