The trial judge had regard to the defendants' youth and guilty pleas, adopted an appropriate overall basis for sentence given the seriousness and multiplicity of the robberies and the need to protect public interest; there was no error in principle warranting interference, and alternatives such as detention or training centre orders were inappropriate, therefore leave to appeal against sentence is refused.
