Absence of an established savings pattern is not an absolute bar to awarding loss of accumulation of wealth; if the court on a balanced view is satisfied there were real prospects the deceased would have accumulated wealth by his notional death it may award damages, and the trial judge's global assessment of HK$320,000 was a concurrent factual finding not vitiated by error of principle and is therefore upheld.
