The Court found material errors: the trial judge misdirected himself on the midazolam consumption evidence and drawing trafficking inferences from price differentials, and erred in admitting and assessing the post-record without addressing whether it was adopted; those errors made the trafficking convictions unsafe; retrial was inappropriate given time served, so convictions were quashed and substituted under s83A for unlawful possession of specified quantities of cocaine and sentences revised accordingly.
