Having weighed written submissions and, crucially, the witnesses' oral evidence and cross-examination, the judge concluded that the parentage of ICH occupied a greater share of the trial burden and apportioned three-fifths of the trial costs to the parentage issue and two-fifths to the plaintiff's lineage issue.
