Because the accepted evidence established the appellant was consulted, saw the card used, and immediately took and disposed of it at Miss Fu's direction, those actions were part of the continuous appropriation and therefore constituted acts 'in the course of stealing', excluding liability under Section 24 and requiring quashing of the binding over order.
