The applications for security for costs were bona fide; the appellant did not demonstrate substantial assets in Hong Kong and the court could not meaningfully value his shareholding or other assets as security; residence evidence was insufficient; exercising its discretion the Court ordered security of HK$250,000 to be paid into court within 35 days, with stays until payment and dismissal on default, and ordered the appellant to pay the applicants' costs of the security applications.
