The Court upheld the convictions because the trial magistrate's acceptance of the prosecution witnesses and supporting photograph was rational and supported by the evidence; appellate interference with credibility findings was unwarranted. However, the sentencing was adjusted because the trial judge did not invite mitigation or inquire into the unrepresented appellant's means before imposing fines, so the fines were reduced from HKD500 to HKD300 on each count.
