The Court of Appeal held the trial judge had not misdirected himself and was entitled to prefer the defendants' expert evidence; on appeal plaintiffs' challenges to findings of fact and credibility failed. On cross-appeal certain itemised awards were reduced because the judge had erred in valuation or lacked evidential basis for particular components; the aggregate damages were reduced from HKD 270,100 to HKD 227,600. Costs as to the appeal were reserved for subsequent determination.
