The trial magistrate's finding that the prosecution proved the offence was upheld because PW1 was credible, bank records showed the three cheques could not be honoured (insufficient funds/account closed), and the defence explanation was implausible; the High Court found no legal error in the magistrate's assessment of credibility or burden and deferred to those factual findings, therefore the conviction was maintained.
