The Court held that because the folding card knife was not established as an offensive weapon per se and a reasonable innocent explanation (use as a work tool habitually carried in a wallet) existed, the prosecution's circumstantial evidence did not yield the only reasonable inference of intent to use the knife to cause injury; accordingly the conviction was unsafe and was quashed.
