The Court upheld the convictions: the jury directions, taken as a whole, were sufficient to distinguish murder from manslaughter and to require proof that each defendant shared the intent to use firearms in a way likely to cause grievous bodily harm; the contested custodial admissions were voluntary and were not obtained by deception or unfairness warranting exclusion, and together with corroborative evidence (including ballistic matches and confessions) they established common intent to support murder convictions under common design.
