The court applied the Re Flesch principles and found the strike out application was inextricably linked to the trial, involved complex and novel legal issues of public importance and potential appellate significance, and the applicant overseas QC was of sufficient standing; accordingly admission under s.27(2) was in the public interest and granted for both the strike out application and, by consent, the trial.
