Section 53(2) must be construed with ss52(1) and 53(1)(b); the Lands Tribunal's jurisdiction to order possession under Part II of Cap 7 is confined to tenancies 'continuing under section 52(1)', i.e. after the contractual period has ended other than by forfeiture, and cannot be invoked during the contractual term except where the tenancy has been terminated by forfeiture.
