Leave to appeal against conviction out of time was refused because the transcript shows the applicant was expressly warned and nevertheless retained his plea to charge 4, so there was no nullity; leave to appeal against sentence was allowed to proceed despite being barely out of time, but on the merits the judge was entitled to reduce the usual one-third discount to 20% because the applicant absconded and the pleas were not timely, therefore the sentence appeal was refused.
