Applying the two-stage broad-brush approach under PD14.3 and Poon Shu Fan, the court found aspects of the solicitors' time claims excessive or unnecessary on party-and-party assessment, disallowed costs attributable to the failed indemnity application, adjusted time allowances for specific fee-earners and items, and assessed the defendants' recoverable party-and-party costs in respect of the Jinhui Consent Summons at HKD 109,303 payable by the plaintiff.
