The court exercised its discretion to award judgment in Japanese Yen because the parties' contract expressly provided for payment in Yen and the defendants failed to substantiate most deductions; accordingly judgment was entered for the plaintiffs for 3,574,000 Yen less the Yen equivalent of HK$10,000 (to be agreed or settled by the Registrar), and the defendants' counterclaim succeeded for HK$18,500 with interest at 7% from 1 February 1977 to the date of judgment.
