The Court held that the misdescription of the Plaintiff's Chinese name was an obvious error that did not create uncertainty as to identity because the deed and contemporaneous indicia (including the business registration number and Companies Registry entry) clearly identified the assignee; accordingly the 1993 assignment conveyed the legal estate to the Plaintiff and no confirmatory conveyance by the original vendor was required.
