Where the evidence showed the complainant was shepherded, guarded and unable to free herself, detention was proved by overbearing her will without need for proof of physical violence; section 3(1)(d) applies irrespective of prior character and 'otherwise disposing of' must be read broadly; on those bases the District Judge correctly found the appellant participated and shared the intention that she be used for prostitution, so convictions stand.
