Because the scheme was unusually instigated and participated in by senior bank officials, the relative culpability of the first applicant did not justify a higher sentence than that imposed on a bank official (the third defendant); accordingly the first applicant's sentence was reduced from six and a half years to five and a half years. The second applicant's active but subordinate role justified a modest reduction of six months from her sentence (from four and a half to four years). The disqualification order under section 168D remains undisturbed.
