The court found that the crane driver negligently lowered the hopper too fast and too far, that this negligent act caused the hopper to strike the deceased and produced sudden strains that caused an outrigger to slip as a consequence, and that therefore the defendant was liable and the plaintiff was entitled to recover under s.25 of the Employees' Compensation Ordinance.
