The appellate court upheld the magistrate's conviction because the cumulative environmental evidence established beyond reasonable doubt that the appellant participated in the unlawful assembly; the trial judge permissibly treated the appellant's flight as supporting evidence in the absence of any plausible innocent explanation and his reference to joint enterprise principles did not produce a legal error material to the conviction (Lo Kin Man principles respected).
