Because the plaintiffs' own evidence indicated the loans were advanced for the plaintiffs' business purposes and many relevant facts and documents were under the plaintiffs' control, the court held there was 'some other reason' within O.14 r.3 requiring a trial; summary judgment was therefore refused and the defendant was granted unconditional leave to defend, with costs ordered nisi in her favour.
