Although the chain of custody had sufficient links to support that the produced drugs were those seized, the fingerprint identification evidence was presented and obtained by flawed methodology (comparison of a small possibly reversed photograph rather than the original, absence of enlargement and insufficient scientific criteria). Because the expert opinion was thus unreliable and the fingerprint evidence was decisive, the conviction was unsafe and had to be quashed.
