The master did not err in law or in the exercise of his discretion: the summonses were premature because the defendant had indicated it would file on 28 May 2014 and the plaintiff failed to make reasonable enquiries before issuing them; however the defendant should have confirmed the late filing. Those competing failings justified the master’s partial deduction from standard costs and the summary assessment of costs was upheld; the appeal is dismissed.
