Conviction quashed because the trial judge failed to properly assess the appellant's subjective knowledge and to apply the correct test for 'reasonable grounds to believe' (including allowance for the appellant's personal beliefs and perceptions), such that a unique irresistible inference of guilt beyond reasonable doubt could not be drawn from the evidence on appeal.
