The magistrate accepted the credibility of the police and security witness evidence and found the records of interview were voluntary and admissible; the defence psychiatric evidence lacked necessary factual basis because statements to experts cannot substitute for the appellant's testimony as to facts; the appellant's observed conduct and admissions established dishonesty and intent to permanently deprive; accordingly the conviction was safe and the appeal was dismissed.
