The magistrate properly assessed credibility and accepted the prosecution's reliable tracing evidence (including dye test and pipe inspection) establishing that the wastewater at the sampling point came from the appellant's pipe; material inconsistencies in the defence evidence justified rejection of the defence account, and there was no basis for appellate interference with the magistrate's factual findings; accordingly the convictions were upheld.
