The judge correctly exercised his discretion: the plaintiff's failure to pay a `forthwith' taxed costs order constituted cogent evidence of inability to pay under s178(1)(c) Cap.32, the plaintiff's assets (bearer shares) were effectively outside the court's control and difficult to realize, and it was therefore proper and not manifestly wrong to order security for costs (including past costs) in the circumstances.
