The court granted a blanket stay of the entire action under Article 8 of the UNCITRAL Model Law because the dispute is subject to a valid arbitration and the plaintiff already has adequate interim protection in the form of sale proceeds in court; issues such as mortgage validity and priorities do not justify carving out parts of the admiralty action while arbitration proceeds and should be litigated in the appropriate proceedings (e.g. AJ60) or after an arbitration award is obtained.
