VENETIAN MACAU LTD v. CHEN MEI HUAN
- Citation
- VENETIAN MACAU LTD v. CHEN MEI HUAN
- Court
- Court of First Instance
- Case number
- HCA1440/2012
The jurisdiction clause, read as a whole, validly designated Macau courts while expressly permitting Venetian to bring proceedings elsewhere and did not offend Macau art 29; the defendant had stronger juridical and personal connections with Hong Kong and no bona fide defence to the debt claim, so the Hong Kong court was an appropriate forum and summary judgment was proper for the documented sums plus contractual interest.
