The Court held there was no statutory jurisdiction to order that pecuniary penalties (costs, fines or compensation) be paid out of bail money; accordingly the direction that sums be taken 'out of the defendant's bail money' was unauthorized and must be quashed. The remainder of the financial and custodial penalties, including the sentence of imprisonment and the compensation order (already paid), were not disturbed except that the costs order as to its payment from bail funds must be refunded.
