Service was effective when defendant, who was outside Hong Kong when the writ was posted, later returned on 22 July 2019 and already had knowledge of the writ by that time; accordingly the Default Judgment was regular and the defendant failed to demonstrate a real prospect of success or adequate explanation for delay, so the appeal is dismissed.
