Where an appeal against cancellation under s16(1)(c) is lodged within the licence validity the cancellation is suspended pending determination but the licence's original expiry date and terms remain effective; absent timely renewal the licence expires on its expiry date and operation thereafter is an offence. The Deputy Judge's contrary construction was incorrect and conviction is reinstated.
