The Court of Appeal modified the guidance in Mo Shiu-shing: judges should in future give the full Lucas-style lies direction whenever directing juries on lies; in this specific case the omission of the fuller formula was not fatal and did not render the conviction unsafe, so leave was granted on some grounds but the appeal was dismissed and the conviction and 15-year sentence were upheld.
