The Court held the trial judge's directions, taken as a whole, were sufficient and any deficiency in identifying specific corroborative matters was not material because independent eyewitness, medical and forensic evidence and the accused's deliberate false testimony could corroborate the critical facts; accordingly the application for leave to appeal against conviction and against sentence was refused and the four year sentence was upheld.
