Where the appellant was the driver who used a public light bus knowing its brakes were defective, that use was an offence 'in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle' within s.23 of the Road Traffic Ordinance; therefore the Magistrate had statutory power to order disqualification and the sentence was lawful and appropriate.
